# Pakan'yani Maidu of Strawberry Valley Rancheria

> The Pakan'yani Maidu of Strawberry Valley Rancheria are Konkow Maidu people who have lived in northeastern California since time immemorial. Federally recognized 1851-1961, we seek restoration of our sovereign status. Our mission: preserve Strawberry Valley Rancheria Maidu culture and educate the public about our heritage while maintaining our unique political and social identity within the larger Maidu community.
